Amazfit Helio Strap vs
Polar Loop
Helio Strap is a low-cost feature play; Polar Loop is an ecosystem companion built around Polar’s established training language. A newcomer gets more hardware value from Amazfit, while an existing Polar athlete may gain more from data continuity.

The decision at a glance.
These winners reflect the specific use case—not affiliate commission. A category can favor one band even when the overall recommendation favors the other.
Design, comfort and controls
Helio Strap keeps the screenless formula light and simple, with a soft band that works well overnight. Its interaction model is almost entirely app-based, so the phone is part of every deliberate workout workflow. Polar Loop is deliberately silent: no screen, button or vibration. That makes it unobtrusive, but it also pushes deliberate workout control to the phone and offers fewer alternative wearing positions.
Health, recovery and sleep
BioCharge combines sleep, exertion and recovery into an easy daily signal. The sensor set covers the core health metrics, though the interpretation and long-term baselines are less mature than Garmin or WHOOP. Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages and SleepWise are coherent for users who already trust Polar’s recovery language. The hardware does not chase every consumer wellness signal, notably leaving out a headline SpO₂ or temperature proposition.
Workouts and training
The combination of sport modes, strength tools and training load is unusually generous at this price. Connected GPS and optical wrist HR remain the main limits for route accuracy and rapid intensity changes. Polar Flow supplies credible training history and Training Load Pro, but Loop is best treated as a passive companion rather than a complete replacement for a Polar sports watch or chest strap.
Apps, integrations and data
Zepp contains a lot of information and integrates workouts with the wider Amazfit ecosystem. Its navigation can feel crowded, and similarly named readiness metrics are not always explained as clearly as WHOOP’s. Polar Flow is deep and consistent across Polar hardware. Its interface feels more traditional than WHOOP or Google’s health experience, but experienced Polar athletes benefit from one continuous training record.
Price and long-term ownership
The low purchase price and lack of a mandatory subscription make Helio Strap the cost benchmark. Optional software services do not prevent access to the core device data. There is no required subscription, so ownership cost is predictable. Its purchase price is harder to justify for newcomers when Helio and Fitbit are cheaper, but existing Polar history changes that calculation.

Make the choice by behavior.
The better band is the one whose app, charging pattern and cost model you will tolerate for years—not the one with the longest feature list.
