A rolling energy score designed to reflect exertion, recovery, sleep and stress through the day.
Zepp
review.
Zepp is where the Helio Strap becomes understandable. It combines continuous health signals, BioCharge, sleep, stress and workouts in one dashboard without requiring a subscription.
A capable and unusually generous free platform for a $99.99 band. The weakness is not missing data; it is prioritization. Zepp can feel crowded, and its interpretations are less coherent than WHOOP or Garmin.
What Zepp looks like
Current promotional screenshots supplied by the app’s developer to Apple App Store. The live interface can vary by phone, account, region and software version.

What the app can actually do
Continuous heart rate, HRV-related recovery signals, blood oxygen, stress and supported temperature trends.
Duration, stages, naps, sleep score and breathing-related insights when available for the connected device.
57 sport modes for Helio Strap, workout summaries, heart-rate zones, training load and VO₂ max estimates.
The app supports wrist or upper-arm use and keeps data in the same Zepp account.
Workout settings, health monitoring frequency, alarms, firmware, battery and sync are controlled from Zepp.
Interface, insight and coaching
What it feels like
Zepp has a modern card-based home screen and many editable data tiles. Its breadth is impressive, but promotions, secondary services and overlapping scores can make the hierarchy harder to read than it should be.
Health and recovery
BioCharge is the headline for Helio Strap. It changes through the day rather than appearing only in the morning. Treat it as an algorithmic estimate: it is most useful for personal trends, not comparison with another person or a medical threshold.
Training
The app can record outdoor routes using the phone’s GPS and review heart-rate zones, load and exercise effect. The hardware has no screen, so starting, checking or correcting a session is more app-dependent than Garmin CIRQA’s physical-button workflow.
Integrations and export
Zepp supports selected partner connections such as Strava, TrainingPeaks, adidas Running, Runna, Komoot, Relive and Apple Health; availability can differ by phone and region. Partner sync is useful, although account-wide portability and web analysis are not as prominent as in Garmin Connect or Polar Flow.
Subscription and privacy
A Zepp account and cloud processing are used for synchronization and analysis. The core Helio Strap experience does not require a paid plan. Review permissions for location, background activity and health-data sharing, especially when several partner services are connected.
Pros and cons
What works
- No required subscription
- Broad health and workout feature set for the price
- BioCharge updates throughout the day
- Useful partner integrations
What holds it back
- Busy interface and uneven information hierarchy
- Interpretation is less mature than Garmin or WHOOP
- Phone is important for route recording and workout control
- Export and web-analysis workflow is less obvious
Who should choose Zepp?
Affordable recovery and training trends. App scores are editorial judgments; feature names, availability and subscription boundaries are manufacturer information and may vary by device, phone, region and account tier.
